The only difference between naturally mined and lab grown diamond is where they’re made. Lab grown diamonds are physically, chemically, and visually the same as naturally mined diamonds and cannot be differentiated with the naked eye. They also have that same sparkle you'd look for in a natural diamond. You can't tell the difference between lab-created diamonds and real diamonds without specialized equipment, even if you're a professional gemologist! They’re grown in highly controlled laboratory environments that duplicate the conditions under which natural diamonds grow. 

 

Diamond mining has numerous detrimental effects on the earth from soil erosion, deforestation, and ecosystem destruction. The mining stage has the most negative impact on society, with working conditions and child labour being horrific. A paramount political effect of the diamond mining chain is blood diamonds. Diamonds that are produced in war zones to finance civil wars.
